Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) Sessions at Tech·Ed
Posted by Damir | Filed under Newsletter, September 2009, BoF, Tech·Ed 2009

Once again INETA Europe is organizing the Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) sessions at TechEd Europe in Berlin, November 4-9, 2009. BOF sessions are moderated open discussions on technology related topics proposed by developers. BOF sessions are not formal presentations, no slides or software demonstrations. The format is casual and open with a microphone and whiteboard available to facilitate discussions.
The sessions are an opportunity for INETA members to have technical conversations with their peers on technology related topics of interest. A topic may be related to conference content or any other topic that would be of interest to conference attendees. The BOF sessions are a great opportunity to meet with other attendees that have common interests and exchange ideas. All conference attendees with the exception of Microsoft employees are eligible to submit a topic proposal.

As you know INETA Europe rely on sponsor funding for all our activities and services. As every international organization INETA Europe is also suffering hard these days from negative side effects of economic downturn. We set the goal of improving a sponsorship program that would attract additional sponsors to diversify our funding base and lessen the impact of a reduction in funding from any one sponsor.
The high level goal for the past year was to evolve the internal operation of INETA while beginning to expand the services and resources for our membership. And there has been significant effort and progress in the area of internal INETA operations. There are currently over 30 people (volunteers, board members, country leaders) helping their fellow developers by volunteering time with INETA Europe.
Already we are heavily involved in the development of new programs and services that will provide great value to our members and improve the communication and information sharing that takes place between user group leaders, members and community experts.
I’m also very curious to hear what is happening at your place. Have you held a special event? Has your group contributed to a local charitable activity? Have you done a special project like a study group?
Contact our VP Marketing Miguel Lopez (Miguel.Lopez@ineta-europe.org) and share the activities and successes of your user group here in our newsletter.
Cheers!

INETA Europe Launches Sponsorship Program
Posted by Jose Luis | Filed under Newsletter, September 2009, Sponsorship
We want to present at TechEd Europe 2009 our new INETA Europe Sponsorship Program.
INETA Europe will launch an extensive new Sponsorship Program aimed at raising funds to expand and improve services for our members during the TechEd Europe 2009. Over the past six months the INETA Europe Team, led by VP Sponsorship Jose Louis Latorre Millas, has designed a great program with many options for sponsorship at a variety of levels.
In the 7 years since our founding, INETA has grown tremendously and
to deliver programs and services to our members requires substantial
funding and volunteer time. During the past year the INETA Europe
Board has targeted key areas for expansion and growth to better
serve our members. As part of that strategic analysis it became
evident we needed to establish a substantial and diverse sponsor
base.
The new Sponsorship Program consists of a wide range of services
from which a custom sponsorship program is designed for each
sponsor. The services available to sponsors focus on INETA's key
strength of providing the opportunity to reach a targeted audience
of software developers focused on Microsoft technologies.
If you are interested in learning more about INETA sponsorship programs contact our VP Sponsorship Jose Louis (joseluis.latorre@ineta-europe.org) or just visit our booth in the community lounge at TechEd Europe.
